Milnerton is home to Cape Town's very own Theme Park – Ratanga Junction. With over 20 rides and attractions, the park is a great place to take the kids for the day. For the adventurous thrill seekers the Cobra is sure to take your breath away. For younger kids and the yellow-bellied amongst us, the park offers a putt-putt course and a petting zoo.

Go bird watching and enjoy the other flora and fauna at the Rietvlei Nature Reserve. The Rietvlei Wetland part is a large wetland in the floodplain of the Diep River between Milnerton and Table View that drains into Table Bay via the Milnerton Lagoon. The wetland offers an assortment of habitats, including a permanent freshwater lake, shallow marshlands that flood in winter, reed beds, a river, and an estuarine lagoon with salt marshes that opens out to the sea. A strip of seaside sandbanks separates the reserve from Table Bay. The area is bliss for bird watchers; especially in spring and summer, when migrant birds arrive from the northern hemisphere. Almost 200 bird species are listed, including pelicans,ducks, coots, plovers, weavers, flamingos, herons, and swallows.

Are there any shopping malls nearby?

Yes there are. Milnerton is home to Southern Africa's second largest shopping mall – Canal Walk. With over 400 shops and restaurants, you're bound to find everything you need from clothes, stationery, and furniture to groceries, appliances and banking services and everything in-between.

Milnerton is also home to the Paddocks shopping centre. The Paddocks Shopping Centre is the Royal Ascot and Milnerton community's local shopping centre. The Paddocks is ideally situated to serve the neighbouring areas and is positioned on the route of the new BRT system.

Is public transport available?

Yes there is. Buses and mini bus taxis are available in Milnerton. The BRT Myciti bus route runs through Milnerton connecting it to the West Coast, Cape Town CBD, the Atlantic Seaboard and the Airport.

How far is Cape Town's CBD?
